Minimum hiring requirements

Protective Options employs highly trained security officers. To be a security officer with our team, you must be able to meet the following criteria.

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must possess and maintain a current and clear Guard Card and all locally required licenses and certificates
  • Willing to pass a federal, state and local background check, medical and/or psychological tests, and substance abuse tests as a condition of employment or continued employment. Certain positions may also require a credit history check
  • Communicate effectively in the English language
  • Meet and successfully interact with co-workers, supervisors, clients, and the public
  • Understand and apply work rules and regulations
  • Must be able to maintain self-control and poise in stressful situations
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • U.S. Citizenship or equivalent work documentation
  • Stable employment history
  • Stable DMV record (where applicable)
  • Honorable discharge from the military (if served)
